SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Cormont Music, the New Hampshire non profit corporation founded in 1997 by Kendall Betts to parent KBHC, was granted full tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service in 1999 and is permitted by law to accept tax-deductible donations.  This has resulted in the creation of the KBHC Scholarship Fund.  Since the fund's inception, more than 140 students have received full tuition scholarships to KBHC.

The purpose of the scholarships is to give an opportunity to participate at KBHC 2017 to promising, highly motivated, deserving horn students which they would not otherwise have.  To that end, horn students, age 14 and older as of June 9, 2018 who have not yet reached their 27th birthday by June 24, 2018, may apply for a scholarship valued at up to one full week of tuition, room and board at KBHC 2017: June 9 – 16 or June 17 – 24.  Applicants who are in high school at the present time must be scheduled to graduate in the classes of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 or 2022 and must be currently studying horn privately.  Adult applicants must be either full or part time students who are pursuing a post-secondary degree at the present time, or college graduates who are currently studying horn privately.  The recipients of a scholarship will be selected on the basis of performance ability, personal motivation and character, a demonstrated need for financial aid in order to participate at KBHC.

"Attending Kendall Betts Horn Camp was a wonderful experience for me.
I was introduced to so many ways of approaching the horn by working
with the diverse faculty.  There were frequent performance opportunities and we really had the chance to get to know the faculty.

I had a great time meeting other horn players and enjoyed swimming and hiking.  The camp is beautiful and the food is amazing.  Come to think of it, I would go back just for the food..."
